UgandaProject: Kenny's Story
In a country devastated by AIDS and poverty, the government of Uganda is unable to pay for its children to go to school. Since 2005, the grassroots non-profit UgandaProject has sponsored a group of 9-15 orphans and students who otherwise would be unable to attend school to receive an education. My wife MeiMei Fox and I traveled to Uganda in August 2013 to make this short film and several others, in order to share the UgandaProject magic. We hope Kenny's story will inspire you. I have over 15 years of experience as a professional author, co-author, ghostwriter, and editor of non-fiction books on health, spirituality and psychology including New York Times bestsellers Bend, Not Break with Ping Fu and Fortytude with Sarah Brokaw. I contribue five articles per month to FORBES about aligning your career with your life purpose.
In addition, I publish my own parenting blog, Adventures with Twins, and contribute regularly to the Huffington Post as well as other print and online magazines. I have written a few short films (including the one above, for the non-profit UgandaProject) and edited a screenplay that was made into a feature film. Currently, I am co-authoring a novel and a screenplay with my husband, Kiran Ramchandran.
I enjoy my work as a life coach, helping my clients achieve their most ambitious goals. I draw on my training as a psychotherapist, having completed a full two-year MA in counseling psychology degree at Pacifica Graduate Institute including one year of supervised psychotherapy, as well as a BA and MS in psychology from Stanford University.
Thanks to my additional background as an Ana Forrest-certified yoga instructor and practitioner of meditation, I integrate mind-body-spirit in my work to assist you, as a whole person. I believe that we have less control than we'd like, but more power than we know. Together, we will work to overcome your stumbling blocks, shift your negative self-thoughts, and establish positive habits to build the life you've always dreamed of having.
